2002年春、激しい緊張の中、初めて安藤氏の主催する百草を訪れる。
夏至開廊の数ヶ月前、あの、とろみのある白い皿を手に入れなければ、
そのことだけを思っていた。

あれから16年が経つ。
安藤氏はいつも自身と時流を照らし合わせ、
私たちが意識下で求めるであろうものを、
少し先廻りし生み続けてくれている。だから、私たちは器を目にした時、
16年前の私のように、あーこんなものが欲しかった、
と自分の手柄のように嬉しくなるのだ。

今展では、氏の約20年の仕事をご覧頂きたいと思っている。
作り手は進化を求める。でも、全てを定番とし制作し続ける氏の仕事は、
一つの進化した作家の形として、受け継がれていくことと思う。
あの白い皿は、今も私たちを新鮮に刺激してくれる。

中国茶会
安藤雅信陶氏による中国茶会を開きます。
夏至の裏庭に建つ明治中期の茶室「無心庵」にて
立礼茶会を開きます。

Eaten alive by a severe anxiety, back in spring of year 2002, I had visited Momogusa which was being run by Mr. Ando for the first time. I was completely prepccupied with one thought, a few months before Geshi’s opening, what I must do to put my hands on those milky white plates.

It’s been sixteen years since then. Mr. Ando has always given us things we desire subconciously, by examining himself against the current time constantly. So, I feel happy as if I had something to do with it being created, when we see his works, just like myself those sixteen years ago.

At this show, we are hoping to showcase his career spanning about twenty years. A creator always push for progress. However, we believe that his work in which everything gets turned into a classic, will keep on being passed on as a form of evolved artist. That white plate still after all this time, stimulates us with its freshness.
