伺ったその日は、薄紅色の藪椿が一枝。
庭にはたくさんの椿と小梅の花が、淡い春を告げる午後。

まみさんは、金物茶道具を手掛ける長谷川一望齋に嫁ぎ、一家を取り仕切っている。
機械がない、とおっしゃる作業場は至って簡素だ。
ここから美しい茶道具も素敵なバングルも、全て生まれていくなんて、ただただ驚いてしまう。
自らを由とする。
自由で力強い作品群は、受け継がれる業の上、飛び回る好奇心の為せる業。
その上洒落てるときたら、抗い切れず惹かれてしまう。

お洒落と野花とお茶が好きなまみさん。
今展では、装身具や花挿し、茶道具を制作して下さいます。

長谷川まみ
茶道工芸の家系である長谷川家三代目一望齋春洸氏に嫁ぎ、伝統ある金工の仕事を受け継ぎながら、自身の作品を手掛ける

There was a branch of pale pink camellia on the day I visited. With ample amount of camellia and early plum blossoms in their garden, one could feel the arrival of spring in that afternoon.

Ms. Mami is married into the Hasegawa family who deals in metal works and tea utensils, and is in charge of the family business. Her workshop, which she says it lacks in machinery, is a pretty simple set-up. I am in awe, after seeing it, at the fact that all those beautiful bangles are produced here.

Create from within. Groups of her free and powerful creations are made possible with her very active curiosity piled on top of the traditional skills and techniques she has inherited and learned. Added with her superb sense of style, they are what make her and her work so attractive.

Ms. Mami adores good styles, teas, and wild flowers. She will be showing, for this exhibition, her accessories, flower vases and tea utensils. We hope you will be allured into this exciting world of metal works with us!
